  • How much experience does your company have?

It’s important to know when a solar contractor started their business and how many solar systems they have installed. This will give you some insight into how much experience the contractor has before hiring them. It’s also a good idea to ask for references from previous customers so you know exactly what you can expect.

At Solar Electric Texas, we have more than 40 years of experience installing solar electric panel systems, as well as over 1,000 local solar electric customers! There's a good chance one of your neighbors has made the switch to clean solar energy with us. And we are always happy to provide references to our past completed solar installations. We also encourage you to check out our great reviews online as well!

  • What about licensing and insurance?

Another important question to ask is if a company and all its employees are licensed, insured, and bonded. You should find out whether any of the solar installation work will be subcontracted, and if so, to who. All of the subcontractor’s licensing and insurance information should be provided through the contractor. Make sure that the contractor’s insurance protection will cover any damage to your roof or home if an accident occurs during installation.

Here at Solar Electric Texas, we are fully licensed, bonded, and insured. Feel free to inspect our license with the TECL (#18011). We do not subcontract out any part of our solar installations. From designing all the way through to installation, your project is completed in-house by our local professionals at our offices in San Antonio.

  • What warranties are available for my new solar system?

You should always find out what warranties are available through potential contractors for your new solar system. There are a variety of warranty options available in the solar industry, but they aren’t universal to all systems. Understanding your warranty options before installation is important so you aren’t stuck with an installed system that isn’t covered under the warranties you want.

Solar Electric Texas offers the most comprehensive warranty available on the market standard on all our solar panel systems. Our warranty includes a 25-workmanship warranty, 25-year linear warranty on the solar panels, and a 25-year warranty on the solar power inverter. The roof attachment points are also covered under our warranty against any leakage for a full 25 years on permanent-style roofs! This gives you comprehensive security on your investment to make sure it is working properly for years and years.

  • Are any solar incentives available for my area?

Depending on where you live in Texas, it may be possible to get financial incentives for installing solar panels and equipment on your home’s roof. Ask for a list of tax credits, incentive checks, and other financial perks that your home is qualified for. Also find out how and when the incentives are applied, and whether or not your contractor will be responsible for incorporating the incentives into your solar package.

We make sure to do a comprehensive incentive evaluation for every customer at Solar Electric Texas. There are currently federal tax incentives for solar, but depending on where you live, local incentives may be available as well. We will help you get the most savings possible!
